Meat Mountain

I'm not sure if the name is appetizing enough for me to give it a go but knowing the awesome Hong Kong cuisine, it is irresistible not to give it a try. Known as Yuk Bang, Meat Mountain is a traditional Cantonese dish that is actually a steamed meat cake

I'm not sure if the name is appetizing enough for me to give it a go but knowing the awesome Hong Kong cuisine, it is irresistible not to give it a try. Known as Yuk Bang, Meat Mountain is a traditional Cantonese dish that is actually a steamed meat cake

It is a hodgepodge mix of ground pork, mushrooms, water chestnuts and preserved vegetables and seasoned with Cantonese home cooking staples -- soy sauce and sesame oil.

One must go to Man Seng to witness that famous meat mountain and not the usual steamed meat cake. I know its a trade secret and cooks won't divulge how they make it something remarkable but their exceptional culinary skills will make a pile of minced meat into a half-foot-high mountain of meat that is cooked to tender and succulent perfection.
