Filipinos (especially Cebuanos) love dried salted fish and many of our countrymen overseas go great lengths just to have a taste of Dried Danggit. Why this dried, salty and smelly fish? Well, its all about the taste of home. Danggit is a Filipino fish that is also known as the rabbitfish or spinefoot from the Siganus family. Some love eating iy fresh just the way iy is but its amazing flavour can be attained if you fry it to become crispy and crunchy like potato chips. Just dip it in vinegar, especially sukang pinakurat, and you're good to go!

When you to Taboan or Carbon market, don't forget to ask the fish monger a good deal.
