Hong Kong Cheeseburgers

Unlike most burgers out there, the Hong Kong-style Cheeseburgers from Denmark Cake Shop is cheap and delicious like those before McDonalds dominated the market. So if you prefer old-school burger without the crap on it then you might as well go for it.

The rundown eatery’s HK$9 burgers don’t fit the burger archetype, but it’s just as good, if not better: it’s palm-sized, minimalist (ketchup, home-made mayo, half a slice of processed cheese) and is encased in a slightly sweet Hong Kong-style butter roll.

The patty is heavily seasoned and moist, attracting lines of school children since the shop opened in 1972.
