Chimaek, a contraction of chicken and maekju (beer), is actually not a dish but a Korean institution since this glorious pairing features two surprisingly mundane foods: fried chicken and beer.  Also known as Chi-Mc, it originated in the 1960s as roasted chicken was introduced which was later adopted to meet Korean taste by making it spicy. As it became popular, draft beer became popular as well to the point that these were paired together.
